Diphereline

24.6.2022 · 1 min reading

What is Diphereline used for?

This medication is used as adjunct treatment in assisted reproduction methods (most often as a supplement to hormone stimulation).

How is Diphereline administered?

This stimulation medicine must always be applied at the same time according to the stimulation protocol you received at our clinic.

Before injecting it, you will need to wash your hands and prepare the ampoule with the liquid, the vial with the powder, the syringe and 2 needles. The ampoule has a dot on it; point the dot in your direction, push on the top of the ampoule and break it off. Once the ampoule is opened, insert the needle into the syringe and remove the cover. Insert the needle into the ampoule and draw the liquid into the syringe. Now inject the liquid into the powder vial. You can gently move the vial, but don’t shake it. As soon as the powder dissolves, draw the liquid into the syringe and remove it. Turn the syringe facing up, remove the large needle and discard it. Now insert the small injection needle into the syringe.

It must be injected subcutaneously around the navel, for which we recommend pinching the skin on your abdomen to form a small ‘fold’ and inserting the needle at a 90-degree angle. Don’t forget to disinfect the injection site, and choose a different spot for the next injection. Throw out the used syringe and use a new one for each injection.

How to store Diphereline

Diphereline must be stored in a dry place at temperatures up to 25 °C; the best place is the refrigerator door, where it should be stored in its original package.

What are the side effects of Diphereline?

Diphereline is a generally well-tolerated medicine, but you may experience some side effects – most commonly swelling or bruising at the injection site, fatigue, nausea and headache.
