What is Gonal used for?

Gonal is used to induce the formation of multiple follicles (i.e. multiple eggs) in women undergoing assisted reproduction methods.

How is Gonal administered?

You will receive thorough instructions on how to administer Gonal. Stimulation with Gonal is usually performed in the morning according to the stimulation protocol you received at our clinic. It must be administered at the same time every day.

The package contains an injector pen with lines marking the units and the total content. Before injecting it, set the required number of units according to the stimulation protocol by rotating the side of the injector pen. Now insert the needle and inject the contents of the pen into your lower abdomen at a 90 degree angle. To make it easier, we recommend pinching the skin on your abdomen to make a little ‘fold’. Choose a different injection site next time, and always use a new syringe and needle.

How to store Gonal

Gonal must be protected from light, freezing temperatures and temperatures above 25 °C, so it is best stored in the refrigerator door in its original package.

What are the side effects of Gonal?

Side effects of Gonal are rare, but they most commonly include headache, nausea, skin breakouts and sensitivity at the injection site.
